Dr. Mike Meru is an accomplished orthodontist who earned his dental degree from the University of Southern California’s School of Dentistry. While at USC, Dr. Mike Meru was recognized for his outstanding scholarship, earning a spot on the dean’s list seven times and receiving numerous awards, including the Society of the National Association Publications Excel Gold Award, the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Wallin Memorial Scholarship, the California Dental Association Foundation Scholarship, and the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Charles O’Grady Memorial Scholarship.

In 2020, Dr. Meru joined and purchased Alter & Meru Orthodontics in Thousand Oaks, California. He also has plans to open a second practice in Farmington, Utah. In addition to his work in private practice, he is an accomplished researcher, having conducted studies on a variety of dental-related topics, including the progression of dental disease in children, motivating factors for students entering dentistry, and salivary gland cancer. His research has been published in several leading dental journals, including the Journal of Contemporary Dental Practice, the Journal of the American Student Dental Association, and the Explorer Journal of Clinical Research at USCSD.
